Smooth LLDPE Geomembranes
Product Description
LLDPE geomembranes have a lower dense cell structure making them more flexible, easier to install, and less sensitive to stress cracking than HDPE geomembranes. Although, further comparison shows LLDPE has lower UV resistance, it’s still considered a great option for exposed applications.
LLDPE liners have better tensile properties allowing it to accommodate stretching and creasing better than HDPE - this is a critical design factor for buried applications. Due to its flexibility, thinner LLDPE geomembranes can be prefabricated in larger panels saving installation time, cost and a better-quality install.

Textured LLDPE
Geomembranes
Load transfer is a crucial design parameter especially for sloped applications. Having a textured surface allows the designer to transfer the load safely to the subgrade.
LLDPE Geomembranes
Textured LLDPE Geomembranes
Product Description
When it comes to the mechanical properties, the smooth sheet will always fare slightly better, however, most of these variations do not pose an impact on the quality or longevity of the liner system. Design engineers must consider going with a thicker liner if they are concerned with both the mechanical properties and the need for a textured surface.
Sloped soil-covered/multi-layered geosynthetic systems often need textured geomembranes to ensure adequate load transfer. Systems will and have failed when proper load transfers are not achieved. Additionally, the textured surface provides a safer walking surface during its installation and future use - this becomes a major deciding factor especially when installation occur during the winter season.

FAQ
The Answers You Need
What are the advantages of using LLDPE liners?
LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) liners have several advantages over other types of liners, including: Flexibility: LLDPE geomembranes conform to the shape of the surface, offering great flexibility, making them ideal for use in heap leach pads. Pre-fabricated panels: LLDPE geomembranes can be pre-fabricated in large panels, which can save time and labor costs during installation. High elongation properties: LLDPE has a higher elongation at break than many other types of liners, which makes them more resistant to stretching when used in buried applications where the liner may be subjected to soil movement or other types of deformation. Chemical resistance: LLDPE liners have excellent chemical resistance, making them suitable for use in a wide range of applications, including those involving aggressive chemicals. UV resistance: LLDPE liners have a high degree of resitance to UV light, making them suitable for use in both buried and exposed applications. Low cost: LLDPE geomemrbanes are generally less expensive than other types of liners, making them an attractive option for many applications.
What are some common applications for LLDPE geomembranes?
LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) geomembranes are commonly used in a variety of applications, including: Landfill liners: LLDPE geomembranes are often used as liners in landfill applications to prevent leachate from escaping into the environment. Containment liners: LLDPE geomembranes are used to create containment areas for hazardous materials, such as oil and gas production waste. Canal and pond liners: LLDPE geomembranes are often used to line canals and ponds to prevent water loss and protect against contamination. Aquaculture: LLDPE geomembranes are used in the construction of fish farms to create contained ponds for fish farming. Mining: LLDPE geomembranes are used in the mining industry to create containment areas for tailings and other waste materials. Waste water treatment: LLDPE geomembranes are used in waste water treatment plants to create containment areas for sludge and other waste materials. Decorative ponds: LLDPE geomembranes are also used in the construction of decorative ponds and water features, where their flexibility and chemical resistance make them an ideal choice. Secondary containment: LLDPE geomembranes are often used as secondary containment liners to prevent the escape of hazardous materials in the event of a spill or leak.
How long do LLDPE geomembranes last?
The lifespan of an LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) geomembrane can vary depending on the specific type of LLDPE used, the thickness of the geomembrane, the quality of the installation, and the environmental conditions in which it is used. In general, LLDPE geomembranes made from high-quality materials and installed correctly can last for many years, even in harsh environments. For example, an LLDPE geomembrane used as a liner in a landfill may last for decades if it is made from a high-quality LLDPE material, has a sufficient thickness, and is installed correctly. On the other hand, an LLDPE geomembrane used in a less demanding application, such as a pond liner, may have a shorter lifespan if it is made from a lower quality LLDPE material or is not installed correctly.
How do LLDPE liners compare to HDPE?
LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) liners and HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) geomembranes are both made from polyethylene, which is a type of plastic known for its outstanding resistance to chemicals and UV light. There are a few key differences between LLDPE liners and HDPE geomembranes: Density: LLDPE has a lower density than HDPE, which gives it a lower specific gravity and makes it more flexible and easier to work with. Elongation: LLDPE has a higher elongation at break than HDPE, which means it is more resistant to stretching and deformation. This makes LLDPE a good choice for applications where the liner may be subjected to soil movement or other types of deformation. Chemical resistance: HDPE has better chemical resistance than LLDPE in certain applications. Both materials are resistant to a wide range of chemicals, but HDPE may be more suitable for use in applications involving aggressive chemicals. Cost: LLDPE is generally less expensive than HDPE, which can make it a more cost-effective choice for some applications. LLDPE liners and HDPE geomembranes are both made from virgin polyethylene resins and are suitable for a wide range of applications. It is important to consult the manufacturer's product specifications to determine the specific performance characteristics and suitability for the intended application, including factors such as chemical resistance, UV resistance, low temperature performance, and other relevant factors.
